Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Dark Horse Services encourages its past, present, and future clients to ask questions and inquire about the services you are provided, whether the service is received from us or another service provider. Here are a few frequently asked questions (FAQs) that we have received in the past.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Rates are dependent upon the requested safety, security, investigation, or assessment service. Rates will also be dependent upon the state in which services are provided, the number of personnel requested, and the “threat level” that our teams must be prepared for. This also coincides with the level of expertise that our personnel must have in order to provide you services.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

An initial request is made to Dark Horse Services, Inc. via email or phone call. Response times will vary; fastest response times are provided when the client contacts Dark Horse Services directly via phone call. Our main office line is (888) 688-6719.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

All Dark Horse Services personnel carry valid credentials through their respective state licensing agencies. In California, these credentials are issued by the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS); in Texas, these credentials are issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety; and in Florida, these credentials are issued by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Affairs. All credentials are searchable and verifiable on these government websites. Additionally, personnel may carry local, state, or federal credentials that are specific to their skillset, services, or expertise. Dark Horse Services will provide agents that meet your needs and services.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

Many of our personnel, including our founding members and upper management staff, previously or currently serve in the United States Armed Forces, Law Enforcement, Emergency Medical Services, or Fire Departments. Dark Horse Services also employs veterans of foreign militaries, law enforcement, and emergency services. This unique capability allows our teams to better relate and serve international clients.

What types of customers have you worked with?

Previous customers range from private individuals to Fortune 500 clients, foreign dignitaries, and large corporations. Our Clients’ privacy is one of our top priorities. As such, we do not disclose previous names of clients and all personnel sign NDAs.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

Dark Horse Services routinely works on high profile assignments throughout the United States, including the Golden Globes, Emmy’s, Grammy’s, Vanity Fair, the Los Angeles Film Critics Association Awards, and many others. Through our public-private sector partnerships, we are proud to serve a diverse network of Clients across a multitude of geographic regions.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Verify credentials. If an individual or company is offering specific service, make sure they are fully licensed and insured through by their local, state, and federal agencies. Whatever state you are requesting services in, there is a high chance that the state requires a Security Company License to provide any type of security service. It is important to protect yourself, your assets, and your friends and family from fraud and harm.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

What are you most concerned about that requires physical security personnel? Is there a credible threat against you, your company, your family/friends, or your assets? Are the personnel providing safety or security services appropriately trained, equipped, and capable of providing the services I am requesting?
